Location: New York City
Emogi is looking for a highly creative illustrator to join our Content Studio. The Content team is our most user-facing team, and produces messaging-first content that help our users have fun, expressive and meaningful conversations across the globe.
What will you be doing?
Art. Do what you love, day in and day out. Create content that help people express themselves in formats they share in text messages. Our content ranges from emotions, jokes, memes, concepts, ideas, people, places, and things. Our formats range from stickers, gif, and emoji, maps, and other formats to come.
Creative concepting. Come up with content ideas, in conjunction with Creative Strategy and Product. Add twists to adapt memes, cultural trends, and real-world events so they resonate in a messaging environment.
Inspiring others. Share your ideas and inspire others. Pitch ideas in daily morning group brainstorms and assignment meetings.
Skills & Requirements
Who is an Emogi Illustrator? We're open to diverse backgrounds and experiences, but here are the must haves. You're:
Opinionated. You've got a POV on what's cool and what's not. You're bursting with ideas on how to make hot, trending stickers, gif and emoji.
Empathetic. You understand best practices for social graphics -- what is and isn’t effective, and how to use visuals to grab attention and encourage sharing (probably because you’re a messaging addict yourself).
Technically Skilled. You're expert in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Creatively Flexible. You're masterful in several illustration styles and have ability to design and translate different aesthetics.
Nice to have:
A flexible schedule and the ability to work during nights and weekends, as needed, to cover late-breaking news.
- Fluent in culture outside the United States and languages besides American English.
